SL Huang Makes Worldbuilders Part of the “Critical Point” Book Launch!
COVID-19 can’t cancel book three of the Cas Russell trilogy!
“Critical Point” is out on April 28th, and author SL Huang had been planning to travel all over the U.S. to promote it. She was going to start at C2E2, then head to the Texas Library Association, the Bay Area Book Festival and more.
It started out well. At C2E2, she met Worldbuilders’ Executive Director Gray Miller, and they talked about the whole idea of “geeks doing good” and leveraging the power of fans to create positive change in the world. She loved the Worldbuilders mission, and offered to come to Stevens Point sometime and do a live-signing and donation of all three of her Amazon-bestselling Cas Russell trilogy – including the soon-to-be-released Critical Point.
Then COVID-19 hit, and the book tour – along with the most other events in the world, like “going outside” – got cancelled.
We’ve all been adjusting to life with COVID-19. Travel plans have had to be cancelled, the whole world suddenly got a crash course in teleconferencing, and the USPS and other delivery services became very popular sights outside our windows.
Some things didn’t change.
- SL Huang’s writing excellence continued to get noticed, with her short story, As the Last I May Know, nominated as a finalist for the 2020 Hugo award for short fiction!
- The third book in the popular Cas Russell trilogy, Critical Point, is still being released on April 28th.
- And SL Huang will still be signing copies LIVE with Worldbuilders – but instead of Stevens Point, she’ll be on our Facebook Live Page!
You can pre-order one of these signed copies at Worldbuilders Market! Reserve a signed trade paperback edition of Zero Sum Game or Null Set (available Friday, April 24th for pre-order) or signed hardcover editions of Null Set and Critical Point.
If you pre-order, you can also request a personalized inscription and watch as SL signs it during the livestream. It’s not quite as good as being right there in person at a booksigning – but the line’s a lot shorter!
SL Huang will also be chatting with us during the livestream, answering questions from chat, and talking about various aspects of her work. Best of all: the proceeds of these book sales go to support Worldbuilders as we work to leverage the power of geeky fandom to make the world a better place. Point your browsers at the Worldbuilders Facebook Live page on Tuesday, April 28th, 2020 and be a part of the virtual book tour!

“I’ve been an admirer of Worldbuilders for such a long time. Science fiction and fantasy folk coming together to do good–it’s the real life version of the superheroics we all dream of! The joy of books meets the joy of helping people; how could I not be thrilled to be a part of that?”
