Humble Post-Apocalyptic…More awesome books!
Guys! Guys! Guess what? We’re back on Humble Bundle!
For the next couple weeks, the Humble Book Bundle’s theme is insanely Post-Apocalyptic! We thought it was a little ironic that a desctruction-of-the-world theme supports Worldbuilders (that’s us) and SFWA, who exist to help out science-fiction and fantasy authors (and we like authors quite a bit). SFWA also does a little thing called the Nebula Awards that you might have heard of.
This bundle features a few books that have been featured in the Worldbuilders lottery (Hugh Howey’s Wool, in particular, though we’ve never had the audiobook!), a couple digital magazines, some comics, a graphic novel, and some bonus goodies for the video game Defiance. It’s a great assortment of entertainment with a compelling theme at a great price. To sweeten the pot, even more cool stuff will be added to the bundle in a week.
And did we mention proceeds go to not one, but two good causes?
We realize the theme is a little bleak, but one of the most compelling things about the post-apocalyptic genre is how characters in the worst situations carry on. There’s always something to live for, and there’s always the possibility that life will get better. It’s a great genre for analyzing society and character, as well as exploring how and why we refuse to give up.
