Live Document
This happens a lot around here. We kind of exist on live documents for everything from product ideas to meeting notes to all the nuts-and-bolts information on our website here. The Worldbuilders hive mind works pretty well when we can all edit and comment on the same documents at the same time.
Until someone like Jeff abuses that privilege.
Actually, we’re being unfair. When we have an office brainstorm, this sort of thing happens even worse. There have been a few times when Amanda or Maria will announce at lunch that once everyone is back at their desk, we have fifteen minutes to come up with as many things as possible–pithy sayings, tee shirt ideas, Kingkiller quotes, whatever we need at the time. It’s a good “no idea left behind” strategy that gets a lot of results in a short amount of time.
And because we’re us, it usually turns into a battle where people are editing other people’s ideas, writing stupid things just to make Amanda laugh, or otherwise being childish. Apparently, technology unleashes the worst in us.
